Stories from The Call

Rob writes...
Sometimes when you answer the call, the adversary tries to stop you. Case in point, Brennan and I decided to answer the call and do a MMA summer small group. We've both been injured (twice in my case) since we started the group, but we continue to push through. The adversary must know we are doing something great...that's we he attacks. But, if you keep pushing through, then you will be able to answer the call! And, You will be able to do something great! Thanks to FUSE and all the students that have come out to our class!! you may not know it, but you are answering a call and you are showing that you put God high on your priority list by taking time out of your summer break to spend a night or two at FUSE each week. Thanks everyone!!!

Ok... Me and my friend Cierra were hanging out in the hallway after fuse waiting for Cierras mom to pick us up and we were talking about how to get more people to come to come to fuse. well i came up with the idea of making posters and flyers to put up at the stores by our houses. So i told Cierra the idea and she liked it, so we waLKed back to the fuse room and asked Pastor Blake if it was ok, of corse he said yes. so we got the idea to take pictures and put them in the background! We are going to do our best to spread the word of fuse and Jesus!!!!!!!!!

Isnt It Funny How Everyone Belives What The NewsPapers Say And The News Say But Qestion What The Bible Says?Isnt It Funny How People Trash God And Wonder Why The World Is Going To Hell?Isnt It Funny Howe People Dont Belive In The Lord BUt Want To Gop To HEven ??Maybe You Should Think Before You Say?provided they Do Not have To Belive, think,do,or say anything the bible says?isnt it funny how people say they belive in god but still follow satan?isnt it funny how you can send thousends of jokes throough email and they will spread like wild fire?but when you send meassages regarding the lord people think twice about sending them?isnt it funny how someone can be so fired up on christ on sunday?and be a quiet christain for the rest of the week?isnt funny how you go to tell someone this you wont?because your not sure what they beilicve?and your scared of what they will think??isnt it funny how people can worry more about what people think of them then what the lord thinks of them,??now let me ask you this ??why is it im 13 years olod and can say this but 67% of the poeple in this big world of ours can even say something about god to there friend s without taking a second thought about what there saying?well ??are you going to passs this on??I made It started Trading it?:?

Tonight (2/18/10) Josh spoke and his dare for us to move really hit me. I have a friend that is being walked all over and not treated the way she deserves and I havent been being the best of friends to her because I havent really done anything other than tell her how I feel. Today in class she was invinting someone to church and one of her so called friends told her to stop and that all she talks about is Fuse ( which in my opinion is a good thing [: ) and she was really hurt by it and instead of sticking up for her i let it slide. But tonight Josh encouraged me to stand up for her more. And to also stand out in my faith. I really let my pride get in my way today and tonight i felt Gods call and its telling me that i need to let go of my pride and do what Jesus would do. So thats what i feel my call is. And thanks Josh for an awesome message.

one of my dearest friends for over the past 4+ years has been (as far as I knew) a devote agnostic...i was hit with a random out of the blue text message asking me about my faith that had us conversing back and forth till the wee hours of the morning. he is now in a place of searching and understands why i believe what i do and wants to learn more about "my God". this is a guy who has been in the tattoo industry for a long time and around non-believers for most of his career. this is a HUGE blessing to be able to have this opportunity with him. he is coming to town next week and i look forward to continuing our talk in person!

Something God is teaching me recently I tweeted a few days ago:

"Hardest thing to admit over my wants: God knows what's better for my life than I do."

I was specifically thinking of patience when I posted that. Patience is a hard thing to practice, but I know that God is Love, and He has what's best for me in store!
Happy Valentine's, God LOVE LOVE LOVES you!!! :o)

Every time i go into Big lots, i think of the kids who things more than i do. I usually buy a toy or two for toys for tots and slide it into the box on my way out. I feel so good about myself whenever i do this.

Today i went to the new all childrens Hospital, I went after school to volunteer my time in helping clean up the 9nth Floor which is the storage floor for right now. Me and my friend Tyler went for three hours and helped clean shelves and mocve boxes and toys for the children who will be staying there. It felt amazing to be doing something great, for a great place. we cleaned about two storage rooms. But these rooms where huge with every toy a kid could ever want. It was great to see that even the kids that would be there on Christmas would still recive gifts and toys that would make them feel like there at home with family. And also for the past week i have been volunteering my time to hospitals and to earn food for starving kids in Africa. So if you have the time volunteer. its an amazing feeling that you never can quit explain to know and feel your out hear in the world making a difference. I hope that all of you who read this will take my advice. It is truelly one of the greatest things you can do.

So I have been feeling "the call" to talk to a guy I work with for a long time and have basically ignored it...bad me!! But, today, half jokingly, I told him, "You need to find Jesus." The funny part is we were using Google Translator to send messages back and forth, so I told him in German, "Sie müssen sich Jesus zu finden!" and he translated it back to English to figure out what I said. Anyway, that led to a good conversation about my faith and my beliefs. He grew up as a believer, but has lost his way. Hopefully, I was able to plant the seed that will help him find the path back to Christ. More on this as it evolves.

I deleted all the secular music off my ipod and put all christian music. I didn't think I would like christian music, not more than my secular music, but I was pleasantly surprised. I love, love, love the bands Blindsided, Living Sacrifice, Demon Hunter, and The Juliana Theory.

So, I don't know anyone in my Spanish class.. and it sort of sucks.. but on frieday, (November 13th) My teacher decided to do these group projects, and it is so hard to do a group project when you dont know anyone you want to work with. SO I ended up being sick on that Friday. I come back to school and find out about these projects and had a big sad face because I have only a few days to do it and I dont have anyone to do it with! So my teacher shows me two groups tat can have another person, the first group with two realy annoying kids, or the second with the most shy two people in the class that no one ever talks to. I felt I should go with them, and get them out of their comfort zone... It was really neat to see them just step outside of the box with me... They are really great people, shy, but great.. and It is the best decision I made... I felt the call... and I answered it.

My call was made shortly after transferring to USF. My life has been wrecked a few times, and I have learned to be resilient through Christ since I've been here. January and February of this year was far from memorable for me; the repercussions of my actions taught me to become a better person, though. I have learned a lot from my younger sister, a fact most people don't know. She is the one who probably knows me better than myself sometimes, and someone I want to work on getting closer with. They say everyone has their own spiritual gifts, and I am using mine towards benefiting the greater good, basically doing the most good (haha i miss Biloxi).
My story begins 4 years agp when I first stepped into FBC as a high school freshman. I left fpr a year and came back, and in the mix there was Blake, the youth pastor from Arizona along with the beautiful miss Amanda =]]. Both of them have helped me grow into such an incredible person. Being alone gives a person time to focus on their priorities and the important elements in life. Being a christian isn't something widely accepted in college because everyone has their own beliefs on what religion and who God are. Taking initiative to stand firm in my beliefs has been a life-changing thing, especially here with mt group of friends. They come from all different backgrounds and respect for what I stand for. (i love writing about my college experience if you can't tell). It was so tempting to go out every weekend and experience "new" things, but those temptations were subdued by my thirst to become closer to Christ, I don't have the chance to lead at FUSE right now, but as long as I can make an impact I know I'm doing the right thing.
Thanks for reading and if you want to talk about your story, I'll answer YOUR call: 7274206490
=]] thanks and this is a pretty wicked thing FUSE is going. i love you guys!
